GRAB Filters™
The importance of a good filtering system
In today’s modern homes, it is essential that heating, ventilating and air–conditioning (HVAC) systems operate to maximum efficiency to reduce energy costs and provide the very best air quality and environmental conditions possible. In addition, the list of allergens which can trigger a wide variety of health problems is increasing daily and better protection for you and your family is becoming more and more important.
A key factor in this protection and prevention process is the quality and performance of the filters that support and maintain your HVAC system.
A blocked or inferior filter and reduce the efficiency of the system to capture dust and allergens, will increase energy usage with its consequent higher cost. An inferior filter may even contribute to dirt and debris building up in other parts of your system, requiring expensive cleaning of the entire system. These problems can be avoided by installing a better quality filter in the first place. This is where GRAB Filters comes in.
The ASHRAE MERV system of evaluating filters
ASHRAE is the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air–conditioning Engineers and they have devised the standards for filtration in the HVAC industry. The industry provides a scale of filter efficiency called the ‘Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value’ (MERV) which, for household properties has a scale from 1 – 13 (1 being the lowest rating). The level of filtration you require will depend on the rating you choose. Most store brand filters are rated MERV 1-4 which leave you and your HVAC system feeling sick!
Features of all GRAB air filters
Hand–made in the USA to the highest industry standards
Provide superior filtration by increased pleat count over standard filters
Filtration performed by moisture–resistant media with no sacrifice to air flow
Prevent ingress of most allergens, mold, dust and spores
Specially designed to fit most HVAC systems
Range suitable from normal to the most severe filtration conditions
Commercial-grade two–piece frame and diagonal supports are completely bonded to the entering and exiting apexes of each pleat to ensure pleats won’t collapse or bow.
Entire inner surface of the anti-microbial frame coated with adhesive to encapsulate the chemical-free 100%-synthetic thermally–bonded filter material sealing allergens and particles on the outside of the filter.

Air filters with a high MERV rating can effectively capture a wide range of particles, including pollen, dust, pet dander, mold spores, and even bacteria and viruses. This helps improve indoor air quality, reduces allergens, and promotes a healthier living environment.
The frequency of air filter replacement depends on several factors, including the MERV rating of the filter, the level of airborne contaminants in your home, and whether you have pets. As a general rule of thumb, it’s recommended to replace standard air filters every 1-3 months, while high-efficiency filters may last up to 6-12 months.
Yes, high-quality air filters with a high MERV rating can significantly reduce indoor allergens such as pollen, dust, pet dander, and mold spores. By capturing these particles, air filters can help alleviate allergy symptoms and improve respiratory conditions like asthma.
